We respect our earth and its precious resources, which is why we will work to ensure our bungalows will  provide an environmentally, socially and economically positive solution to the typical housing model.

Solar Power

Sustainable renewable energy will provide the bungalows a meanginful cleaner power source, which will assist with greenhouse gas emisions and to mitigate climate change, which is crucial to proctecting all life and our eco systems.

UPGRADED WHARF

Constructed in the 1940s, the original island wharf served as the gateway to one of the Whitsundays' first bustling resorts. It provided access for day trippers and resort guests to the island's amenities, including a restaurant, pool, and accommodation. However, the wharf was completely destroyed by Cyclone Debbie in 2017. In response, the current resort owners invested in a multimillion-dollar rebuild, creating a new ocean wharf with a floating pontoon that has restored the wharf to a state surpassing its former glory. Today, the wharf is exclusively reserved for resort guests.

STEEPED IN HISTORY

The island is steeped in history, with captivating tales of the earliest settlers still echoing across its landscapes. Among the preserved historical sites are the original grave markers dating back to the early 1800s. These first inhabitants arrived by boat in the 19th century, settling on the island before moving to colonize the mainland. Notably, the island is also the final resting place of its previous elderly owner, who passed away in 1886 and was laid to rest beside the graves of these pioneering settlers.

3. LUXURIOUS OCEANFRONT RESIDENCES.

Fit for family and friends, your choice of 18 stunning two- and three-bedroom beachfront residences redefine luxury island living with beautifully appointed rooms and spacious open-plan living. Wake up to lush, tropical gardens and the impossibly-blue Whitsunday waters.

Embrace the sea breeze with your very own alfresco barbecue area or cool-off in your private pool – the pinnacle of island life. Timeless and coastal contemporary, these oceanfront residences have been designed with ultimate comfort in mind. Cheerful pastel hues, relaxing deep covered porches, high rafted ceilings and luxurious open light-filled rooms offering tantalising views of the ocean all pay homage to the best of island life.

DA approval and plans for the Oceanfront Residences are currently in place.

4. TAKE IN THE VIEWS FROM THE 360° LOOKOUT.

Perched some 30 metres above sea level, this vantage point provides stunning views of the entire island. Take a gentle stroll up the hill for the perfect view, or, if it’s more your speed, hire an e-bike for a swift ascent.

Here, you can get a glimpse of the incredible Gloucester Island and passage, discover the rolling hills of Dryander National Park, peek through the clouds at the Middle and North Head Islands, and look back at the quaint township of Bowen and its surrounds.

5. THE SPECTACULAR VIEWS OF KANGAROO POINT.

Rough and rugged, this point makes up the second headland of Sinclair Bay and features a navigational beacon for maritime use. Battered by the rolling ocean and sea breeze, this type of rocky cliff face is a rarity this far north and is reminiscent of the rugged coastlines of the southern states. This craggy escarpment makes for the perfect nesting place for a variety of seabirds. See if you can spot the gulls and terns which have made their homes among the weathered rock face.

6. PIRATE COVE, A Hidden Piece OF PARADISE.

Tucked away from the rest of the island, this brilliant white-sand beach features crystal-clear turquoise waters, perfect for swimming, snorkelling, and soaking up the sun. This ideal snorkelling spot is home to colourful fish, corals, and marine invertebrates such as starfish and crabs. Head down the far side of the beach for a relic of the past – a monument dedicated to a vessel lost in the waters offshore.

Whatever your speed, this sheltered cove offers amenities and covered picnic areas to ensure you spend the day without a care.

7. LOST LAKE AND A WILDLIFE HAVEN.

This stunning watering hole captures the wet-season rains, making it a year-round picture-perfect paradise for the wildlife on the island. Surrounded by native greenery, ducks and peacocks skirt the edges of the lake and are easily spotted from the shoreline. Come down at dusk and see if you can spot the local wallabies, or look-up and catch a glimpse of the ospreys and sea eagles that call the island home.

8. THE SAND SPIT AND ‘BEACH CLUB’. THE ULTIMATE IN RELAXATION.

Already relatively well-known with the local boaties, this spectacular stretch of sand, revealed by the receding tide, is the perfect place to soak up the sun and bask in the warm tropical waters of the Whitsundays.

The spit is a must-do for visitors and will be easily accessible to all guests on Stone Island.

Situated upon this stunning sun-drenched sand stretch on the northwestern tip of the island, is home to Stone Island’s ‘Beach Club’. A must visit, this architecturally-designed, open plan restaurant, bar and micro brewery, where the sand, seas and skies meet for the ultimate in relaxation. Sip cool cocktails in a poolside cabana, indulge on fresh local cuisine, or lay about on one of the sun lounges that dot the white sandy spit.

9. THE ISLAND BUNGALOWS.

Dotting the Western escarpment overlooking clear ocean waters, are 30 individual island bungalows, surrounded by natural landscapes. Perfect for couples to drop out and immerse in a romantic island getaway, each bungalow, with its edgy modern design, has an outdoor bath, shower and deck area to sit and watch the sun disappear each afternoon over the distant mountain ranges.
